Mammoth Mountain also has an Adventure Center at its base that is great for adventurous kids with its climbing rock, mountain-bike park, zip line for kids who are 13 or older, and of course the Gondola, which takes you to the mountain’s 11,053 summit for spectacular views.
When the temperatures fall, and snow begins to fly, usually from November through February, Mammoth Lakes becomes a winter sports Mecca. With skiing and snowboarding on the mountain and snowshoeing, cross country skiing and sledding throughout the area, there’s a ton of fun to be had in the fluffy white powder.
