When my children were small Christmas was easy. As long as there were plenty of boxes to be unwrapped what was inside hardly mattered. Once they reached their teens gift selection became much harder. Nothing was exactly what they were hoping for. Once the kids were grown and out of the house it was getting them all together for the holiday that was the hardest.

Five years ago I came up with the perfect gift and also discovered the best place to go for a winter vacation. We now spend Christmas week in sunny Orlando, Florida for four days at Disney World and three days at the beach. Our children and grandchildren join us as their schedules permit and everyone is more than happy with his or her Christmas gift.

A Disney vacation offers so many options that it’s always an adventure. The first year we stayed at the island-themed Caribbean Beach Resort. The next year we went all out for the futuristic Contemporary Resort. The next year was a very memorable week at Fort Wilderness for camping Disney style.

From the elaborate water park pools down to the Mickey Mouse pancakes served at the food courts Disney resorts are every bit as magical as the attractions.
